Antiqued Mink is drawn from the antique-finish trade. From the late 19th century, Western importers found that buyers preferred faded carpets to new ones, and the trade obliged by ageing them on arrival. Taste for patina is older than most people assume.

Taupe through to chestnut — a warm neutral that behaves like a colour rather than a blank.

How it is made.

Antiqued Mink is woven from soft chenille polyester with a flat, low pile that vacuums cleanly and does not shed. The base is woven cotton with a non-slip finish worked into it — no latex, no glue and no rubber crumb, which is exactly why it survives a wash cycle when a rubber-backed rug would not.

Where to put it.

We would put it in the living room or the bedroom first. All ten sizes are woven, from 60 × 100 cm up to 200 × 300 cm.

Living with it.

Everyday life washes out. Thirty degrees, gentle cycle, dry flat, put it back down. It is robot-vacuum friendly, safe for children, and fine under pets — the pile is too short and too dense for claws to catch.

Care & washing

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not bleach. Air dry flat and return to the floor only when fully dry.

Soft chenille polyester is woven into a dense, low pile on a cotton backing with a non-slip finish. It is designed for everyday vacuuming and a domestic 30°C wash.

How to load it: Fold the rug loosely, place it in the drum by itself and never exceed the machine's stated dry-load capacity. Use a gentle 30°C cycle with mild detergent, then reshape and air dry flat. Always follow the sewn care label and your machine manufacturer's instructions.

Care, without the guesswork

Wash, dry, back to the room.

Follow the sewn care label and use a drum with enough room for the rug to move freely.

    Vacuum first

    Lift loose grit with low suction and no aggressive beater bar.

  2. 02

    Blot the spill

    Use cool water and a clean cloth. Blot gently—never scrub the fibres.

  3. 03

    Wash at 30°C

    Load loosely, wash alone on a gentle cycle, and use mild liquid detergent.

  4. 04

    Keep it gentle

    No bleach or fabric softener; both can alter colour and reduce grip.

  5. 05

    Air dry flat

    Reshape while damp and let it dry fully before returning it to the floor.

  6. 06

    Match the dry weight

    Fold loosely and use a machine whose stated capacity is at least the rug's dry weight.
