The Persian Tribal Collection: What It Is and Who It Suits

Qashqai, Bakhtiari and the weavers of Fars: garden panels, stacked diamonds and small animals, drawn from memory on portable looms.

The 4 designs in this collection

They are drawn from 2 separate design sources: Shiraz and Bakhtiari. Each has its own article explaining where the pattern comes from and what the motifs mean.

The colours it runs in

Across the collection you will find blue & navy, cream & white, pink & fuchsia and red & burgundy. Every design is woven in all ten sizes, so the choice within a collection is purely pattern and colour.

Who it suits

Rugs from the migratory tribes of Iran. If that description fits the room you are buying for, start here rather than with the whole catalogue — 4 designs is a browsable number, 315 is not.

The construction, which is the same throughout

Chenille polyester pile on a woven cotton backing with a non-slip finish. Machine washable at 30°C, no underlay needed, no latex or rubber. The heritage is in the drawing; the construction is deliberately modern.
